April 9, 2009 my brother , his friend and i visit Kuala Lumpur for the first time, and for the first time we stayed in backpacker hotel.
We usually rent 4 stars or 5 stars hotel for our comfortable living, but for this time we encourage to visit backpacker hotel, really cheap hotel, only 20RM, but too much money to spent for unusual billed such as towel, air con, iron, and also put your several money for deposit, and when you check out, and want keep your bag in a tray they charge 1RM for locker. So be it, their rules we can’t change…

The first day, we departed on 5PM local time, after cleanse ourselves i contact my best friend in KL to guide us and teach us how to use monorail, train, and bus too. After we met them, they deliver us to HANGTUAH, and in the near monorail we found Chinese Restaurant. The old resto ,nothing but traditional, cheap and tasty. We asked for Chinese Claypot Rice, Chinese Claypot Rice with salty fish, Red Bean Peel Soup, and Fresh Kailan Sautee Minced Garlic.

The next days
We visit KLCC Suria, and i really surprise that we found O’Brien’s Sandwich, which is the most delicious sandwich ever (in my perception) . And we glad because O’Brien’s had had open in Jakarta, but already closed. O’Brien’s is remarkable sandwich ever in Jakarta, unfortunately they closed, i hope they longs Jakarta people and will open in Jakarta again..

Then we go to KLCC Suria , ready for lunch, we visited “SAKAE SUSHI”
This sushi resto replace the famous GENKI SUSHI in Malaysia, who already taken by APEC Malaysian Sdn Bhd. This resto similar with Sushi Tei in Jakarta, and Sakae Sushi had had opened in Jakarta too but not too famous because they don’t have delicious taste and good service, so they beat by Sushi Tei. In reality, Sakae Sushi become one famous sushi resto in KL, they have two spot, in KLCC Suria and Pavilion. Sakae Sushi is not cheap resto , everyone who want dine in must prepare their ringgit , about > 100 RM.
They have good taste, seasoning so good, appearance so nice, and service friendly, we felt cozy despite their space not too spacious. I asked for big sushi set, beef enoki sauteed, udon soup, tempura moriwase. We satisfied and ready to go to another place…

Do you want taste a french cuisine with affordable price and doesn’t make your wallet empty ? Try Java Bleu, an original french cuisine restaurant at Fatmawati, DBest supermarket area, south Jakarta.
I’ve been there for dinner with my brother, when he was birthday september 21, couple days ago.
Before we go there we ask the chef, Mr Antoine to cook as we wish, so we challenge him to cook Foie Gras and Lobster.
The foie gras is nice, feel so tender and season so heavy but the lobster not like we expected. I expect he cooked lobster with pan seared method but he cooked lobster with spinach and white wine in caserolle, it’s okay taste still good.
But overall we salute with Java Bleu.
My brother also order another menu from their stock, such as Quiche Lorraine, Escargot, Pork Tenderloin steak, Fresh mushroom soup.

Our first experience when we enter the restaurant , restaurant looks cozy when empty, but i think the restaurant too small ,Java Bleu has many customers, i think they have to enlarge them. I don’t care about spacious exactly, the first impression is classic, their paintings frame, their classic tables and classic chairs also plates remind me colonial time in Jakarta, i think

Java Bleu price so affordable for delicious meals, but what money can buy still valid for food, i think. Despite Java Bleu famous to all Jakarta’s people but the taste and high quality food only can have in Sriwijaya, Dharmawangsa Hotel. I don’t think i make hyperbolic term, i found the awesome meals while i ate in Sriwijaya ,Dharmawangsa. Unbelievable taste, purity, gentle texture, season, and price made everything so different when i ate in Sriwijaya.
But Java Bleu already represent the french cuisine, is good enough, but not the best !

Do you ever heard about Bakso ci Judes in Pasar Senen ? Do you ever tasted it ? This meal not Halal for our Moslem’s friend but really delicious for everyone who’s okay eat meal with pork in their ingredient.

Bakso Ci Judes established since 1980, i remember when i was 7 years old , my mom brought me and ate the delicious pork meatballs there. The owner, a lady, she is very not friendly restaurant owner ! But for those who already knew this lady become usual at last, and they called her “Encik Judes” – (not friendly sister – encik is a chinese term to call older lady) . This not friendly attitude become her trademark, she seems like to have that attitude. So funny , i think !
Her bakso truly remarkable, she also prepared “chinese tofu with pork meat” , also “pork intestines”
If you never visit her restaurant, her restaurant at Pasar Senen, in the grocery area not fashion area. I double recommended for this restaurant, this is a legend.
If you feel lost in Pasar Senen, just ask where is the bakso encik Judes ? Most of them known her existence.

Try it before you regret !
There’s none Chinese meatballs like encik Judes !

Yah Udah! Bistro open again
After they closed their cafe on Jalan Jaksa, frankly we missed our best sausage restaurant in this town. I asked my friend to find out that restaurant. She called the owner of this restaurant, and the owner said will open soon.

We seems lost contact after send sms to the owner.
And we already forgot it, because we thought impossible open Yah Udah Bistro again!
But we wrong…THEY’RE OPEN !!

June 11,2008 they were open at Kelapa Gading, at boulevard raya .
We really amazing that Ya Udah Bistro open again, thanks God my prayer answered
I really love Ya Udah Bistro,nothing but sausage ! Every time go there eat sausage is a MUST.
German Krauker, German Farmer with German fries, so cool, taste so delicious. If you had eat Sausage World or Frankfuter, Ya Udah Bistro incomparable. Ya Udah Bistro one of benchmark of German sausage, i think !
I don’t want to write more, you have to go there, then taste it !
